The second meeting of the OECD Global Network on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises was held 2-3 March 2010 at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris, France.
State-owned enterprises play an important role in economies around the world, with major impact on public finances, economic growth, and the competitiveness of the business sector. This meeting focused on two Governance Reform topics, namely SOE board nomination, functioning and evaluation; and establishing, organising and reforming SOE ownership entities.
The event brought together participants from more than 45 countries and other international and regional organisations, and was of particular interest to relevant policy makers, practitioners and stakeholders in sharing their experience broadly and in exchanging with their colleagues both from OECD and non-OECD countries on their current reform efforts and challenges
