Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, cities have been on the frontline both to relay nation-wide measures on the ground and provide laboratories for bottom-up and innovative recovery strategies. The crisis has exposed and often exacerbated longstanding structural challenges in cities, ranging from inequalities to climate-damaging practices.
