Key findings
Latvia’s exchange of information practice and application of its regulatory framework in the field of transparency and availability of information are largely compliant with the international standard for transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes. Latvia is involved in all types of exchange of information and it is considered by peers an important and reliable partner. Latvia has an extensive exchange of information network covering 99 jurisdictions. Latvia has in place also appropriate organisational processes to ensure provision of responses in a timely manner as was demonstrated over the last three years. The report nevertheless identified a few areas for improvement mainly in respect of access to banking information and information held by legal representatives and concerning use of the exchanged information.
