CALLING YOUTH ORGANISATIONS: HELP INFORM COUNTRIES' RESPONSE AND RECOVERY EFFORTS

The COVID-19 crisis has posed severe risks in the fields of education, employment, mental health, disposable income and participation in public life. Youth have been significantly exposed to these risks, and the long-term effects of the crisis may widen generational inequalities.

In April 2020, the OECD engaged with youth organisations to collect and analyse evidence on the most pressing issues they resented during the early stages of the crisis. Their input helped inform the delivery of policy advice based on evidence and good practices. To analyse whether their concerns over the long-term effects of the crisis have changed, as well as capture their ideas on ensuring a fairer and more inclusive recovery, the OECD is now inviting youth organisations to take part in a second short survey. The answers will feed into a policy paper and help governments in considering the perspective of young people in the planning and implementation of their response and recovery plans. 

The paper will complement information available on the OECD online hub “Building a resilient recovery”.
