Indicators of Regulatory Policy and Governance (iREG)

The Indicators of Regulatory Policy and Governance present evidence of OECD member countries’ and the European Commission’s regulatory policy and governance practices in the areas of stakeholder engagement, Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) and ex post evaluation.

 

Indicators of Regulatory Management Systems (RMS)

The RMS indicators identify leading regulatory management practices and offer comprehensive insights into trends in regulatory reform. The data cover the years 1998, 2005 and 2008-09.

 

Product Market Regulation (PMR) Indicators

The PMR indicators database is a comprehensive and internationally-comparable set of indicators that measure the degree to which policies promote or inhibit competition in areas of the product market where competition is viable. The database covers the years 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013. In 2008 several separate indicators where merged into the PMR Indicators.

 

Competition Law and Policy Indicators

The Competition Law and Policy Indicators measure the strength and scope of competition regimes in countries. They are available for the years 2003/2004, 2010 and 2013 for up to 49 jurisdictions in 2013.

 

Civil Justice Database

The Civil Justice Database describes outcomes and institutional features of civil justice systems across countries. The data refers to 2010 and 2011 and covers 35 legal systems in 31 OECD countries.

 

Indicators of Employment Protection

The OECD indicators of employment protection legislation measure the procedures and costs involved in dismissing individuals or groups of workers and the procedures involved in hiring workers on fixed-term or temporary work agency contracts.

 

Services Trade Restrictiveness Index (STRI)

The STRI database provides internationally comparable current information on regulatory policies affecting trade in services. STRI is available for 40 countries (34 OECD members and 6 key partners) in 18 sectors (Accounting, Air transport, Architecture, Commercial banking, Computer, Construction, Courier, Distribution, Engineering, Insurance, Legal, Maritime transport, Motion Picture, Rail freight transport, Road freight transport, Sound Recording, Telecommunications, Television and broadcasting).

 

FDI Regulatory Restrictiveness Index

The FDI Regulatory Restrictiveness Index measures statutory restrictions on foreign direct investment in 58 countries, including all OECD and G20 countries, and covers 22 sectors. The data is available for the years 1997, 2003, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

 

Inventory of Restrictions on Exports of Raw Materials

This database is a factual inventory of border and domestic measures that restrict the export of industrial and agricultural raw materials. The default year is 2010, but the dataset contains both older and more recent data (1996-2012).The database covers 16 non-OECD countries for raw materials and 55 countries for industrial materials.

 

Infrastructure Investment database

This database provides comparable cross-country information on infrastructure regulators, regulation and investment for the year 2007.
