Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India

The OECD Tokyo Centre and the Development Centre are pleased to invite you to the virtual launch of the Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India 2022: Financing sustainable recovery from COVID-19 on 22 March 2022.
First launched in 2010, the Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India is a flagship and best-selling publication on economic growth and development in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN): Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam, together with China and India.
Providing an update of regional economic trends and policy challenges, the Outlook promotes policy dialogues between Emerging Asia/ASEAN and OECD member countries in hopes that it will improve the quality of economic policies made by governments in the region and the well-being of their citizens.
In this webinar, we will present key findings of the report, together with distinguished speakers from Asian countries. The 2022 edition of the Outlook discussescurrent macroeconomic assessments and examines economic risks, such as impacts of the Omicron variant, inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, as well as rising inequality.
The thematic focus of the Outlook 2022 addresses financing sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores the possibility of broadening financing policy options to cope with this challenge such as debt management, and COVID-19 related financial instruments, including green, social and sustainability bonds. The report also discuss policy options for developing capital markets, such as increasing financial literacy and enhancing macroprudential policy frameworks.
