Innovation Strategy for Education and Training Measurement Framework

The OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) is exploring ways to measure innovation in education.

This is a major part of the CERI’s Innovation Strategy for Education and Training .

Innovation in education is crucial for improving learning outcomes, equity and cost-efficiency in education. But we still have little knowledge about what is concretely happening in the large majority of schools and classrooms; what has changed or is changing; and about how this is perceived by educational stakeholders.  This strand of the project aims to:

  • Develop a questionnaire for a survey on innovation in education;
  • Ensure that the questionnaire is flexible enough to be used voluntarily by interested countries, regions and cities, even if there was no full scale implementation;
  • Pilot the survey in a few voluntary countries;
  • Develop a strategy for a full-scale, international implementation of the survey
