Innovation is critical to the continuous improvement of education and the delivery of increased learning outcomes, equity, cost-efficiency and student satisfaction. This strand of the work explores to what extent traditional levers of innovation policy and of the OECD Innovation Strategy are at play in the education sectors.

The project examines the following policy instruments to better identify the characteristics of educational ecosystems that faciliate self-sustained improvement and leave room for experimentation and radical innovation.
