OECD Network on Agricultural Total Factor Productivity and the Environment

The Network on Agricultural Total Factor Productivity and the Environment convenes experts from relevant countries to facilitate dialogue and, where possible, co-operative research efforts that aim to develop a better framework for cross-country total factor productivity comparisons. In due course, the Network will initiate the development of environmentally adjusted TFP (EATFP) indicators.

The Network's activities will be based on the experience and efforts of academic experts in the field, and on the relevant work on total factor productivity (TFP) that is currently being conducted by the OECD and other national and international organisations. The OECD will act as facilitator of the discussions, and network members will take leadership roles in delivering the programme of work.

The Network arose out of a recommendation of the Expert Workshop on Measuring Environmentally Adjusted Agricultural Total Factor Productivity for Agriculture, held on 14-15 December 2015. This recommendation – to establish the network – was subsequently approved by the OECD’s Committee for Agriculture, which recognised the need for greater knowledge sharing in this subject area.
