International webinar: Understanding cross country practices for policy evaluation

Launch of OECD and France Stratégie cross country reports on policy evaluation. The role of evaluation to support governments in addressing the exit and recovery from the COVID-19 crisis

REPORT NOW AVAILABLE

International webinar: 23 June 2020

The webinar will share the findings of two recent international studies on policy evaluation, including the reports:

  • Institutionalisation, Quality and use of Policy Evaluation: Lessons from countries experience, OECD, covering findings from 42 countries
  • France Stratégie cross country study, covering findings from 6 countries

Session 1

Discussions will address the policy implications of the findings. The aim is to ensure that policy evaluation systems can meet countries’ needs in promoting evidence-informed policymaking as well as in improving the quality of public expenditure and the quality, responsiveness and accessibility of public policies.

Session 2

Session will focus on the current COVID-19 context, in which governments, due to the emerging support scheme, are mobilising evaluation tools to preserve public accountability. Moreover, the rapidly changing context for the delivery of public services calls for adapting evaluation methods to help governments maintain the effectiveness of service delivery.
