The Chancellor also delivered a keynote address to OECD Ambassadors, special invitees and OECD staff on her vision on international co-operation, the European Union and the role of Germany in promoting a stronger, cleaner and fairer world economy (Read the speech in German / in English / in French).

In his introductory remarks, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría praised Chancellor Angela Merkel for being a “steady, guiding force throughout the crisis”. “Her effective and decisive leadership is strongly acknowledged, as is her pivotal role in steering Germany, and Europe, to calmer waters,” he said (Read the full speech).
