Our compilation of innovative pedagogies aims at profiling the main families of innovative pedagogies, with their features, applications, variations, and related knowledge about how they work best. We do not think they are effective or innovative in all circumstances as so much depends on engagement and professionalism, appropriate choices, and conducive contexts. While they may be familiar to many educators they are unknown to most others who therefore need much more than simplistic categories such as traditional vs. innovative or direct vs. constructivist.

The current compilation represents work in progress in the first project phase in 2017 and may well be further developed in the future.  Such approaches populate an expanded repertoire with which teachers can shape the relationships between teaching and learning and provide important tools to inform their professional judgements. They group pedagogies and bundle practices in coherent and connected ways.
