 SPSR Indonesia workshop 2018

INDONESIA, OCTOBER 2018. The EU-Social Protection System project (EU-SPS) and Indonesia’s national planning ministry, BAPPENAS, jointly held a workshop on recommendations for the country’s social protection system in Jakarta on 17 October. Alexander Pick, member of the OECD’s social cohesion unit, presented the preliminary results from the EU SPS review on Indonesia’s social protection system to over 50 attendees from local ministries, development partners and research institutions. Participants welcomed the overarching approach of the forthcoming report, and went on to identify gaps that needed to be addressed and to propose recommendations based on the review’s findings. This feedback will be taken into account and the suggested recommendations will be incorporated into the last chapter of the report, which is due to be published early 2019.
