DAC-EPOC Task Team on Climate Change and Development Co-operation

The DAC-EPOC Joint Task Team on Climate Change and Development Co-operation is a group of experts on the issue of climate change, particularly on climate change adaptation. The OECD Development Co-operation Directorate and Environment Directorate jointly serve as the Secretariat of the Task Team, which reports to the OECD DAC-ENVIRONET and OECD Environmental Policy Committee's Working Party on Climate Investment and Development meetings (EPOC-WPCID). The overarching mission of the Task Team is to integrate climate change adaptation into development co-operation, and its work has enabled in-depth discussion on pressing issues on climate change adaptation. More specifically, the Task Team has focused on:

1. Policy guidance on integrating climate change adaptation into development co-operation

This guidance was endorsed by OECD member countries and published in 2009. It constitutes a key reference for Development Co-operation and Environment Ministries and Agencies in their co-operation with developing country partners in support of adaptation to climate change.

2. Supporting policymakers to integrate climate change adaptation into development co-operation

The Task Team supports partner countries to apply the guidance into their decision-making processes, and is currently working on supplementary materials to apply it in specific contexts.
