Seminar on Corporate Governance Developments in Indonesia

 

The Seminar on Corporate Governance Developments in Indonesia took place at the Intercontinental Hotel, in Bali, Indonesia, on 7 September 2005. 

In three sessions the following issues were discussed: (i) the Role of the Board in Corporate Governance, (ii) Corporate Governance in Groups of Companies and (iii) the World Bank Indonesia Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC), Corporate Governance Country Assessment, August 2004.

Speakers from The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, as well as the OECD and the World Bank shared their views with discussants from Indonesia, as well as more than 150 Indonesian participants representing policymakers, regulators, stock exchanges, self regulating organisations, academics, private sector and further stakeholders.

The Seminar was hosted by the Indonesian securities regulator BAPEPAM, and co-hosted by the Jakarta Stock Exchange, KPEI, KNKF (the National Committee on Corporate Governance), KSEI and the Surabaya Stock Exchange.
