Corporate governance of state-owned enterprises

MENA-OECD Task Force on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises

1 March 2010, OECD Conference Center, Paris - France

The MENA-OECD Task Force on Corporate Governance of SOEs was set up in 2008 to address the corporate governance priorities and challenges faced by SOEs in the region. The Task Force is comprised of representatives from holding companies, state audit institutions, relevant Ministries overseeing the operation and performance of SOEs, regulatory authorities, and individual SOEs.

Focus of this particular meeting will be on two governance reform topics that task force members have identified as priorities for the region:

  • Transparency and Accountability
  • The selection and quality of SOE boards

This meeting has been jointly organised with the Hawkamah Institute of Corporate Governance with support from the Global Corporate Governance Forum and will be followed by the Global Network meeting on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of State-Owned Assets.
