All about numbers - who spends what, and where

The global picture of official development assistance (ODA)

ODA continues to remain resilient and responsive to crises. DAC countries' ODA reached a historical peak in 2022.

Country data

  • Aid (ODA) disbursements to countries and regions: Geographical breakdown by donor, recipient and for some types of aid (e.g. grant, loan, technical co-operation) on a disbursement basis (i.e. actual expenditures). The data cover flows from all bilateral and multilateral donors and philanthropic foundations.
  • Development Co-operation Profiles: How much aid did your country give? Where and how was it spent? DAC members meeting their commitment to target the furthest behind?
  • Official Development Assistance: Discover latest figures and trends.
  • Aid at a glance: Key figures on ODA flows showing latest trends, top recipients or providers and sector allocations.
  • Aidflows.org features key data on aid flows by donor and recipient over the last ten years. The OECD has partnered with the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the African Development Bank to make global aggregate data on aid funding easy to access.
  • Geographic Distribution of Financial Flows to Developing Countries provides comprehensive data on the volume, origin and types of aid and other resource flows to around 150 developing countries.

International Development Statistics online databases (IDS online)

The International Development Statistics databases cover bilateral and multilateral aid (ODA), private providers’ aid and other resource flows to developing countries.  Data are presented under three sub-themes:

  • Flows by provider”:  volume, origin and types of aid and other resource flows;
  • Flows by provider and recipient”: historical and forward-looking data on volume, origin and destination of resource flows;
  • Flows based on individual projects (CRS)”: detailed information on individual aid activities, such as sectors, countries, project descriptions etc. used to derive aggregate data.

 All online databases were updated on 22/12/2023 with complete data for 2022.

There are two ways to access DAC and CRS data.

QWIDS (Query Wizard for International Development Statistics)
is the easiest way to search our databases as it automatically selects the most appropriate dataset to match your search.

OECD.Stat
is the OECD's data warehouse. Access is recommended for users familiar with the content of individual DAC and CRS dataset.
