The private sector is widely recognised as a main driver of economic growth and employment creation - key dimensions in the international community’s work to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction. Increasingly, development partners work directly with the private sector in developing countries to deliver programmes in areas such as enterprise development, aid for trade, financial sector policy and investment climate reform.
