Poland assists Georgia in conducting its regional policySince 2009, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) of Poland has been supporting activities of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The programme aims to increase the administrative capacity of Georgia in the area of regional development policy. At the initial stage of co-operation, the MRD provided the Georgian administration with support in the process of preparing the National Strategy for Regional Development of Georgia for 2010-2017, which was adopted by the Georgian government in 2010. In the following years, the MRD pursued development activities aimed at the implementation of the strategy to improve the quality of the national development policy. The direct beneficiaries of the programme are the employees of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and regional administration units of Georgia engaged in planning and implementation of the regional development policy.
