Jeffrey Van Hove has been appointed Head of the Tax Treaty, Transfer Pricing and Financial Transactions Division. Mr. Van Hove took up his duties on 18 January 2019.

In his role as Head of Division, Mr. Van Hove will support the Director of CTPA in delivering the strategic orientations of the Secretary-General, in particular as they relate to the area of taxation, leading and providing strategic direction to the Directorate’s work on tax treaties, transfer pricing and financial transactions. In this capacity, he will play a key role in the ongoing work on base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), including on the taxation of the digital economy. He will work closely with the Office of the Secretary-General, the OECD Sherpa and her unit and other parts of the Organisation in the development and implementation of horizontal projects and on strategies to advance the implementation and global impact of the OECD tax work, including through increased engagement with key partners and the OECD's engagement with the G20.

Mr. Van Hove has extensive experience in the field of taxation, both in the Public and Private Sector. Since 2018, he has served as Senior Tax Advisor in the Tax Treaty, Transfer Pricing and Financial Transactions Division within CTPA. Prior to joining the OECD, Mr Van Hove was Director of Global Tax Planning and Reporting at Amazon. He has also served as the Tax Legislative Counsel at the US Treasury Department where he worked for four years, and has been a partner at two law firms where his practice focused on tax matters.

A US national, Mr. Van Hove holds an LLM in Taxation from New York University Law School, a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law and a Bachelor Degree in History from Yale University.
