Asian Roundtable on Corporate Governance, 27-28 June 2007 - Singapore

 

“Ten years since the Asian Financial Crisis –

where are we heading with corporate governance?”

 

The Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable took place at the Regent Hotel, in Singapore, on 27-28 June 2007. The meeting was organised by the OECD and co-hosted by the Singapore Exchange Limited and Singapore Institute of Directors in partnership with the Government of Japan. 

The discussion among senior officials, business leaders and scholars from Asia and OECD countries addressed the following themes:

  • Showcase session on ten years since the Asian financial crisis – where we are in corporate governance today;
  • Current reforms in Singapore; 
  • Moving away from box-ticking : OECD Methodology on Assessing Implementation with the OECD Principles on Corporate Governance;
  • Shareholder activism and proxy voting
