Lucy Elliott, Director of the Council and Executive Committee Secretariat

 

 

Lucy Elliott was appointed Director of the Council and Executive Committee Secretariat in July 2017. Previously, she served for four years as the Director of Internal Audit and Evaluation at the OECD, and prior to joining the OECD held several positions in the public and private sectors, most recently serving as Director of Internal Audit for the World Food Programme of the United Nations (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger, based in Rome, Italy and directing internal audits over operations in over 75 countries. Earlier in her career, Ms. Elliott held various positions at WFP and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, covering business improvement, internal audit, financial control and financial accounting; and gained external audit experience with Price Waterhouse Coopers in the UK and Switzerland.


Ms. Elliott manages the team which provides assistance on the operational aspects of Council, Executive Committee and related meetings, including the Ministerial Council Meeting, and assists with strategic input for agenda-setting and various forms of institutional advice and support to the Secretary-General, OECD Secretariat and Delegations on issues related to OECD governance; and the team which delivers the In-Depth Evaluation function, which provides systematic and objective assessments of the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of the OECD’s Substantive Committees.


Ms. Elliott is a UK national, a Chartered Accountant, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds an MA in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, UK.
