Sustainability Policies and Practices for Corporate Governance in Brazil

The event, that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 21, featured the launch of the OECD report "Sustainability Policies and Practices for Corporate Governance in Brazil" which presents an overview of the main trends and issues related to sustainability and corporate governance, both in Brazil and globally. The report, financed by the UK Government, is the output of a joint project involving the OECD and Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários -CVM) to support the development of capital markets regulation related to sustainability risks faced by public companies.

The underlying objective of the project is to provide research and analysis to support Brazil’s effort to strengthen its framework for corporate disclosure, the responsibilities of company boards and shareholders’ rights in alignment with the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance
