The OECD’s new Public Governance Review of Brazil’s Supreme Audit Institution – the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) –  assesses the governance arrangements for the external audit of the Accounts of the President of the Republic. The report includes proposals to strengthen the positive impact of the audit on the executive and legislature’s decision making and to encourage public transparency, accountability, and debate.

 

OECD will present the CONTENT FOR DELETION to journalists as well as to TCU President Benjamin Zymler and his ministers 9:30 a.m. on 4 December. This event will take place at the TCU offices (Auditório do TCU , Setor de Administração Federal Sul, Quadra 4, Lote 1,Ed. Anexo III, 70042-900, Brasília – DF) during the opening of an international seminar on Financial Audit in the Public Sector.

 

The review will be available to journalists in English on the OECD's password-protected website at 1.30 p.m. Paris time for immediate release.

 

The launch will be attended by senior officials from the federal executive, the National Congress, Brazil’s private sector and civil society – as well as officials from the supreme audit institutions of Australia, France, South Africa, Sweden and the United States and representatives from the European Court of Auditors, Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank.
