Xavier Colom Fajula is the Vice President for Teaching and Students at the Universitat Politència de Catalunya (UPC) and a Professor in Material Science at the Chemical Engineering Department at Terrassa School of Engineering.  He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering (1997) and Industrial Engineering degree from the Universitat Politència de Catalunya. His research interests are focus on the Composites and Polymer Materials with sustainable and recycled components. He was Vice-Director for Institutional Relations at Terrassa School of Engineering (2000-08).
