Tour of Granada
Saturday, 12 February, 8.00-20.30

 

Departure from Seville at 8.00, we will travel by coach to Granada (approx 3 hours), the main town in eastern Andalusia. The tour of Granada includes: a visit to Alhambra, a site of palaces, military, religious and administrative buildings, a tour of the 15th century Generalife building, the leisure residence of Granada's reigning dynasties which features extensive gardens, courtyards, ponds and fountains. After this visit and  weather permitting, there is a panoramic couch tour with local guides.
 
Dinner is at the Paco Martín Restaurant and the menu consists of:
 
- Homemade croquettes
- Scrambled eggs with Green Asparagus and “Serrano” Ham
- Fried Fish at the Granada style
- Iberian (Pork) Sirloin
- Nougat Semifredo
- Red Rioja wine
 
After dinner, the coach will take us back to the hotels in Seville.

Tour of Jérez

Saturday, 12 February, 9.30 – 18.30

 

Departure from Seville at 9.30, we will travel by coach to Jérez (approx 60 minutes), famous for its vineyards and Andalusian horses. The programme includes: a tour of the González-Byass wine cellar including wine tasting. Then there is a visit to the old Recreo de Las Cadenas, home of the Royal Andalusian Equestrian Arts School, a visit to the Museum of Time, which exhibits more than 300 watches and clocks from the 17th to 19th century.
 
Dinner is at the Bullfighting Museum and the menu consists of:
 
- Monk-fish Soup with vermicelli
- Andalusian Veal Stew
- Green Pepper and potatoes
- Truffle Millefeuille with light custard cream
- Rioja Red wine
- Andalusian White wine
 
After dinner, the coach will take us back to the hotels in Seville.

Tour of Cordoba: The Three cultures of Andalusia
Sunday, 13 February, 9.30 – 18.30

 

Departure from Seville at 9.30, we will travel by coach to Cordoba (approx 90 minutes). This tour of Cordoba includes a visit to the biggest Mosque in the western world, Great Mosque of Cordoba, noted for its superb artichecture, visit to the Alcazar of the Christian Kings, the Calahorra Tower –a Muslim fortress - and the synagogue in the middle of the Jewish quarter.
 
Dinner is at the Las Palmeras Restaurant and the menu consists of:
 
- Fried aubergine slices with sugar cane syrup
- Iberian sirloin in a Sherry sauce
- Cod dumplings with an orange syrup
- Turkey breast in tomato sauce
- Fried Custard Squares with an English sauce
- House wines
 
After dinner, the coach will take us back to the hotels in Seville.

Seville: panoramic sightseeing and river cruise
Sunday, 13 February, 11.00 – 14.00

 

Starting at 11.00, there is a sightseeing coach tour of Seville. The tour includes a viewing of many famous monuments in Seville, such as the Giralda, the Cathedral, the Golden Tour and Plaza de España. There will be a one hour boat trip on the Guadalquivir river. This will entail a panoramic tour of Triana neighbourhood, the modern architecture in the Cartuja Island (site to the 92 Universal Exhibit) and the river docks.
 
After this, our coach will take us back to the hotels.
