José Ángel Narváez Bueno is Vice-Chancellor of Research and PhD Studies since 2004 in the University of Malaga, and previously Vice-Chancellor of Research and Scientific Policy. He has a PhD in Medicine and Surgery, specialised in Human Physiology. He is principal research for numerous research projects funded by different institutions at national and regional level. He has authored and co-authored more than twenty scientific publications, including books and peer reviewed articles. He has stayed at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm for several periods from 1991-99. He has organised different International Symposiums and Conferences. He has participated in different evaluation bodies, such as the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation (ANECA, President of the Sciences Committee). He has directed the Nursery School Carlos Haya (1988-1990) and the Health Science School (1990-93).
