Javier Velasco Álvarez is the Chief Executive Officer of Neuron Biopharma. He obtained a PhD in Biology by the Universidad de León. He has completed several training courses, including R&D Management, Patents and Utility Models, Environmental Management Systems and Quality Management Systems. He was a post-doctoral researcher at Antibioticos S.A., León (Biotechnology Unit) before becoming a senior researcher at GlaxoSmithKline Biotransformation and Natural Products. He then became Director of the Department of Biotechnology at Puleva Biotech S.A. He has published more than 30 scientific papers in prestigious international journals and has contributed several chapters to books. He is also listed as the inventor of nine patents in the field of industrial biotechnology.
