    Governments need to address inevitable risks of losses and damages from climate change, says OECD

    As governments face the challenge of delivering on their net-zero by 2050 commitments, a new OECD report says they must focus in parallel on reducing and managing the inevitable risk of further losses and damages from climate change.

    Agreement reached at OECD to end export credit support for unabated coal-fired power plants

    Lithuania strong on renewables and recycling - must do better on transport, agriculture and emissions reductions, says OECD

    Lithuania has significantly boosted its use of renewable energy and waste recycling but needs to do better in managing environmental impacts of transport and agriculture. Policies will also need to be strengthened considerably for Lithuania to reach its 2030 and beyond climate targets and to improve biodiversity and water quality, according to a new OECD report.

    OECD countries make partial progress updating rules on international shipping of plastic waste

    OECD countries have agreed to update rules on the export of hazardous plastic waste for recycling in line with international changes so that advance consent from destination countries will be required ahead of shipping. However, they did not reach consensus on updated arrangements for the export of non-hazardous plastic waste. OECD countries have agreed to review the situation for non-hazardous plastic waste in 2024.
