Spain’s regulatory sandbox to test the future EU AI Act
Regulatory sandboxes have made it possible to test innovative products, under the supervision and support of the competent authorities, to ensure compliance with existing legal frameworks. Spain’s regulatory sandbox offers a new approach, where innovative products may already exist, but the legal framework has not yet taken effect. The objective is to develop regulatory expertise among stakeholders affected by the AI Act before its entry into force and to democratize this knowledge to providers willing to develop AI systems.
