The OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices facilitates policy dialogue and information exchange between OECD Member countries and key partners on improving corporate governance of state-owned enterprises and implementing privatisation policies. The Working Party was formed in 2001 to assist in the application of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance specifically to state-owned enterprises. In support of this mission, the Working Party developed, and now oversees implementation of, the OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises.
Members of the Working Party include all 38 OECD Member countries and the EU Commission. Argentina, Brazil and Kazakhstan have a standing invitation to attend in view of their status as Participants to the Working Party.
In addition, the following countries are invited to participate on a regular basis: All key partner countries (India, Indonesia, People’s Republic of China, Saudi Arabia and South Africa), Bulgaria, Croatia, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Viet Nam.
The table below provides a list of government agency(ies) responsible for the ownership, or for coordinating the oversight, of state-owned enterprises in those countries, along with links to their websites when possible.
Further information about the Working Party’s participants and mandate can be found here.
