Banner: High-Level Meeting - Food and Nutrition Crises 2022

In response to the food and nutrition crises in the Sahel and West Africa, stakeholders are working together to provide sustainable responses. This high-level meeting is co-organised by the Sahel and West Africa Club, the European Union and the Global Network Against Food Crises.

Objectives:

  • Mobilise emergency food and nutrition assistance for the most affected populations in the Sahel and Lake Chad basin countries (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Nigeria), which account for 92% of the people impacted by the food and nutrition crisis.
  • Renew a strong political commitment to structural policies to address the underlying causes of food and nutrition crises and integrate humanitarian, development and peace dimensions.
