Born on 31 July 1968 in Darmstadt, single.


From 1988 to 1993, he studied law at the University of Saarland with a focus on labour law. In parallel, he studied French law at Centre d’Etudes Juridiques Françaises until 1990.


In 1996, on completion of his practical training with the Saarland higher regional court in Saarbrücken, he joined the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA).


Until 1998, he worked as an expert in the Social Protection Department.


From 1999 to 2003, he was office manager to the BDA President and Managing Director.


In April 2003, he was nominated a member of BDA’s Management Board.


From October 2003 until September 2005, he was alternate Board Chairman of Verband Deutscher Rentenversicherungsträger and a member of the Executive Board of Bundesversicherungsanstalt für Angestellte.


Since January 2004, he has been a member of the Social Advisory Council for pension insurance and its Deputy Chairman since June 2004.


Since October 2004, a member of the Executive Board of Internationale Vereinigung für Soziale Sicherheit (IVSS).


Since October 2005, alternate Chairman of the Executive Board of Deutscher Rentenversicherung Bund (DRV Bund).


Since July 2006, a member of the Supervisory Board of Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein auf Gegenseitigkeit (PSVaG).


Since November 2006, a member of the Administrative Board of Versorgungsverband deutscher Wirtschaftsorganisationen (VdW).
