Tom Oommen is currently Canada's Lead Negotiator for the WTO Doha Round Trade Facilitation negotiations. A career foreign service officer, he has previously served in a number of assignments with Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade in Ottawa, Paris and Mexico City. He holds bachelor's degrees in Science (McGill) and in Engineering (Montréal), and a master's degree in Public Administration (Queen's). He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is married to Lynn Petros and lives in Ottawa.
