Gavin Brown has worked on health care issues at the municipal, provincial and national government levels in Canada. Areas of particular expertise include physician compensation, Aboriginal health and intergovernmental relations.

In his current position, he is responsible for policy issues related to the federal government's role in the broader Canadian health care system, including managing relationships with a number of independent federally-funded agencies responsible for areas such as eHealth and patient safety. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brown worked for three years in Vanuatu, where he was the chief adviser to an integrated rural development program.

 

Mr. Brown has a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from Queen's University and a Masters of Public Administration Degree from the University of Victoria. He is currently Canada's member on the OECD Health Committee.
