International Land Coalition

"Commercial Pressures on Land" is one of the International Land Coalition's global initatives aiming to promote a wide collaboration between civil society organisations, intergovernmental organisations and research based institutes.The website provides access to a large document database including analytical studies, briefing notes, policy papers, laws and many other resources. It also gives access to a dedicated blog to further discuss land acquisition issues.

 

LandNet

This regional West African land network is specialised in land issues at the West African national and regional levels. It aims to bring African perspectives in the land policy debate at the international level. Its composed of francophone and anglophone West African land experts and practitioners. LandNet is represented by four national member organisations (Benin, Burkina Faso,Guinea and Togo) and by individual members in more than 10 West African countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal).

 

The Hub Rural

The Hub’s goal is to assist West and Central African stakeholders (states, inter-governmental organisations, civil society organisations and development partners) to promote coherence in rural development programmes worldwide.

 

GRAIN

GRAIN is a Barcelona-based small international NGO that works to support small farmers and social movements in their struggles for community-controlled and biodiversity-based food systems. Following the food crisis in 2008, it conducted a study on "The 2008 landgrab for food and financial security". More recently, it focused on analysing the characteristics of the "new farm owners". It also set up a blog on "The Food Crisis and the Global Land Grab".

 

 

GTZ

The GTZ Land management project aims to improve land management and secure land rights in developing countries. CAADP

The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programe, a programme of the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), aims to boost agricultural productivity in Africa. Within its pillar 1, the TerrAfrica Initiative has mobilised US$1 billion for investment in country programmes for sustainable land and water management through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Strategic Investment Programme.

UNDP's Drylands Development Centre

The UNDP's Drylands Development Centre specializes in assisting countries to fight poverty and encourage development in the drier parts of the world. The Centre located in Nairobi, Kenya, is one of the three UNDP Thematic Centres around the world.
