Peter Malinga is the Commissioner in charge of Customs in Uganda’s Revenue Authority (URA) since January 2005. Previously, he acted as:

•  Assistant Commissioner in charge of technical matters in the URA, from January 1999 to December 2004.
• Senior Technical Expert in the Tariff and Trade Directorate of the World Customs Organization, from January 1992 to December 1998.
• Senior Collector of Uganda Customs, from 1986 to 1991.

 

Mr. Malinga holds a Masters degree in Industrial Location and an Honours degree in Economics and Agricultural Economics. He has participated in the negotiations of COMESA and EAC for several years.
