The digital revolution, globalisation and demographic changes are transforming the labour markets of OECD and emerging economies. These deep and rapid transformations in a context of slow productivity and wage growth and high levels of income inequality in many countries raise new challenges for policy makers.

The aim of the new OECD Jobs Strategy is to help countries addressing these challenges by providing detailed policy recommendations across a broad range of policy areas. It goes beyond job quantity and considers job quality and inclusiveness as central policy priorities, while emphasising the importance of resilience and adaptability for good economic and labour market performance in a changing world of work.

Launch of the new OECD Jobs Strategy

To mark the launch of the new OECD Jobs Strategy the following events were organised :

  • The 2nd High Level Policy Forum on the new OECD Jobs Strategy. Ministers of Labour and Finance, renowned experts and representatives of the social partners discussed the main policy messages.
  • DARES/OECD Workshop “Implementing labour market reforms”. Experts and practitioners discussed how to build support for labour markets reforms and enhance their effective implementation.
