Visit of Secretary-General Angel Gurría to Montreal and Washington, D.C., June 13-17, 2016

 

Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, will visit Montreal on June 13-15 to participate in the Conference de Montreal and launch the OECD Economic Survey of Canada. Afterwards, Mr. Gurria will travel to Washington, D.C., on June 16-17 to launch the OECD Economic Survey of the United States.

  • Tuesday, June 14, at 10.30 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will present a new Montreal-specific economic report to Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre entitled Montreal, Metropolis of Talent: An Action Plan for Boosting Employment, Innovation and Skills. The report will be available online following the launch, here.

 

  • Thursday, June 16, at 9:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will deliver remarks on the Inclusive Growth in Cities Campaign at a Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program and the National League of Cities Institute event examining the rising inequality in cities and focus on concrete ways to address it.   • Thursday, June 16, at 2:30 p.m.: Mr. Gurría will join Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors Jason Furman at the Peterson Institute to launch the OECD Economic Survey of the United States. Peterson Institute President Adam Posen will offer comments and moderate Q+A. Watch online. This website will be updated upon release of the report.


  • Friday, June 17, at 9:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will address the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) during an event on Trade and Inclusive Growth. More information here.

 

  • Friday, June 17, at 11:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will provide opening remarks at OECD Washington Center event, High-Level OECD Workshop on Improving Opportunities for Women in the United States. See list of speakers and registration details here.

 

While in Canada and the United States, the Secretary-General will also hold bilateral meetings with high level U.S. and Canadian officials.
