Visit of Secretary-General Angel Gurría to Montreal and Washington, D.C., June 13-17, 2016

 

Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, will visit Montreal on June 13-15 to participate in the Conference de Montreal and launch the OECD Economic Survey of Canada. Afterwards, Mr. Gurria will travel to Washington, D.C., on June 16-17 to launch the OECD Economic Survey of the United States.

Public events include:

 

• Monday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will join Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau CP MP at the Conférence de Montreal to present the OECD’s 2016 Economic Survey of Canada. 

 

• Tuesday, June 14, at 10.30 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will present a new Montreal-specific economic report to Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre entitled Montreal, Metropolis of Talent: An Action Plan for Boosting Employment, Innovation and Skills. The report will be available online following the launch, here.

 

• Thursday, June 16, at 9:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will deliver remarks on the Inclusive Growth in Cities Campaign at a Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program and the National League of Cities Institute event examining the rising inequality in cities and focus on concrete ways to address it. • Thursday, June 16, at 2:30 p.m.: Mr. Gurría will join Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors Jason Furman at the Peterson Institute to launch the OECD Economic Survey of the United States. • Friday, June 17, at 9:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will address the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) during an event on Trade and Inclusive Growth. More information here.

 

• Friday, June 17, at 11:00 a.m.: Mr. Gurría will provide opening remarks at OECD Washington Center event, High-Level OECD Workshop on Improving Opportunities for Women in the United States. See list of speakers and registration details here.

 

While in Canada and the United States, the Secretary-General will also hold bilateral meetings with high level U.S. and Canadian officials.
