About the project

This work is the result of the cooperation between the OECD (as the support provider) and the General Secretariat of Financial Sector and Private Debt Management in the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance, which requested support from the European Commission under the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) Programme. The OECD is the implementing partner of the project.

This project is carried out with funding by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument and in cooperation with the European Commission Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM).

National Financial Literacy Strategy for Greece

The National Financial Literacy Strategy for Greece will provide guidance to national stakeholders involved in financial education in Greece over the five years from its adoption. the proposal for a national strategy was developed through a consultative evidence-based approach and was designed in line with the OECD Recommendation on Financial Literacy.

Financial literacy in Greece: relevance, actors and initiatives

This report presents the actors directly involved or with an interest in financial literacy, and the financial literacy initiatives being implemented in Greece in 2022. The content of this report and its preliminary policy considerations are relevant to stakeholders across government, independent authorities, not-for-profit and private sectors, and to the public.

Financial literacy in Greece: evidence on adults and young people

This report presents the evidence collected through two nationally representative quantitative surveys of financial literacy of adults and high school students in Greece conducted in 2022. It contains analysis of the levels of financial knowledge, behaviour and attitudes, including digital financial literacy among both groups. In respect of adults, it also describes awareness and use of financial products and services, and levels of financial well-being.
