Korea addresses PFOS, its salts and PFOS-F as restricted substances under the Persistent Organic Pollutants Control Act. Under the Act, any manufacture, import, export and use of PFOS, its salts and PFOS-F are restricted except for specific exemptions and acceptable use in the Stockholm Convention.
Since 2013, Korea has implemented environmental monitoring on PFOS, and has also conducted environmental monitoring on PFOA since 2015.
