Peter Thompson is the Director in DG Trade responsible for Trade and Development policy and bilateral trade relations with the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

Among his responsibilities, he is the chief negotiator in DG Trade for the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) with ACP countries and is responsible for the EC's Generalised System of Preferences (GSP).
