Dr Mia Horn af Rantzien is currently the Deputy Director General of Sida, Swedish International Development Agency.

 

Before taking up this position she was Sweden´s first Ambassador for Marine Environment. As Sweden´s Permanent Representative to the WTO 2004-2007 she was the Chair ad personam of the WTO Aid for Trade Task Force and Chair of the Integrated Framework Steering Committee.  Before that she was the first CSR Ambassador and 2000-2002 she was the Principle Secretary to the Parliamentary Commission on Swedish Policy for Global Development, that laid the ground for the new Swedish policy for global development.

 

Dr Horn joined the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1977. Parallel to her career within the Swedish Foreign Service, she pursued an academic career and received her PhD in Economics in 1994.
