Matthias Meyer

 

Matthias Meyer heads a small consulting firm that specializes on aid effectiveness, methodological and strategic guidance, and the interface of aid with trade and with environment.

 

Before mounting PRAXIMONDO, he was Ambassador for Switzerland with a special mandate for trade and development and a senior negotiating role at the WTO (2002 to 2005) and Executive Director at the World Bank (1997 to 2002), where he represented Central Asian and Eastern European countries, besides Switzerland.

 

Before that, he worked in economic cooperation for the Swiss Government, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank where he started his career as a young professional and four years in the West African field office in Abidjan.

 

He also coordinated  fund replenishment negotiations for the African Development Bank and headed a working party at DAC.
