Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo

 

Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo (Santo Domingo, 1966) is the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the European Communities in Brussels, Belgium.

 

Previously, he served his government as Viceminister for Economics and Multilateral Cooperation (1995-1999), Ambassador to the UN and the WTO in Geneva (1999-2002) and Economic Advisor to the Chamber of Deputies (2003-present date). He is also a Research Professor of Economic at the Pontifical Catholic University in Santo Domingo.

 

He has been involved in trade negotiations since 1993, participating in the Uruguay Round and ensuing negotiations in the WTO; the FTAA; the Centralamerica-Dominican Republic FTA; the CARICOM-DR FTA; and the CARIFORUM-EC Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). He has chaired the Group of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States in Geneva (2002) and Brussels (2006).

 

For the recently concluded EPA negotiations, he was the Lead Negotiator of CARIFORUM on Investment and Trade in Services.
