Michael Conlon, Director of Research for the Canadian Federation of Students

 

Michael Conlon is currently Director of Research for the Canadian Federation of Students. Prior to his current position Conlon served as National Chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students from 1999 to 2001.

Conlon has published several articles and book chapters on post-secondary education policy and has delivered conference papers on a wide variety of themes and topics related to post-secondary education policy and social equity. Conlon has presented conference papers on the work of Jacques Derrida, Slavoj Zizek, and Pierre Bourdieu.

Conlon completed his honours degree in English at the University of Western Ontario in 1990, and in 1994 he obtained his Masters in English from Carleton University. In January of 2003, Conlon completed his PhD at the University of Victoria, with a dissertation on the cultural and political theory of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu.
