2 October 2023, 10.00-13.00 CEST  Geotag for agendaBrussels, Belgium (hybrid event)

The European Commission and the OECD International Network on Financial Education (INFE) hosted a hybrid event to launch the joint Financial Competence Framework for Children and Youth in the European Union.

This framework follows the publication of the EU/OECD-INFE Financial Competence Framework for Adults in January 2022.

The objective of the framework is to establish a shared understanding of the essential financial literacy skills for children and teenagers at different stages of their lives to enable them take well-informed personal finance decisions immediately and later in life. The framework can support the development of financial literacy policies, programmes and teaching material by public, private and not-for-profit stakeholders.

The event served as a platform for young people, policy makers, educators and academics to exchange views on the relevance of the framework and of financial literacy more broadly. It explored ways in which the framework could be used at national level.
