Margaret is Group Manager of the Jobs Strategies Group within the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). She is responsible for a range of policy development and implementation functions associated with employment services and jobs. In particular, the Group focuses on policy responses to the economic downturn to reduce the impact on the labour market.  Margaret is also responsible for implementation of key elements of the Government’s Jobs and Training Compact – a compact with Australians affected by the global recession, focusing on retrenched workers, local communities and young people.
Margaret has been with DEEWR since 2002 in a range of roles associated with labour market policies and programs. Prior to joining DEEWR, Margaret has worked in a number of other public sector organisations including the Department of Finance and Administration and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
