Ms. Czesława Ostrowska Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy
Education: Graduated in 1980 from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of University of Lódź and obtained the master degree in sociology. Employment: On 21 November 2007 Ms Ostrowska was appointed Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, where she is responsible for labour market issues and the implementation of European Social Fund.
Other qualifications: From 1991 to 2004, Ms Ostrowska participated in numerous trainings and seminars in the field of labour market policy and social policy, as well as organisation of and managing labour market institutions, methods for combating unemployment, methods of labour market analysis, rural development and European Union funds. The trainings were organised, inter alia, in German Federal Labour Office (Nuremberg), Ministry of Labour of the Kingdom of Belgium (Brussels), Ministry of Labour of the United Kingdom, US Department of Labor and European Institute in Łódź.
Social activities: Peasant movement activist since 1985. Former member of Zjednoczone Stronnictwo Ludowe (United People’s Party). Member of Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe (Polish Peasants' Party).
Interests: Sailing (sailing instructor of Polski Związek Żeglarski – Polish Sailing Association), literature, tourism. |
