Ms. Anja Kopac Mrak graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences, sociology programme - human resources management. Dr Kopac Mrak performed part of her obligations within the framework of her postgraduate studies on “The Analysis of European Social Policy” at the University of Bath, Great Britain. In 2004 she obtained her doctoral degree in sociology, precisely in the area of social policy, her thesis being focused on the issues related to the social-state reform. 

From 1998 on, she has been employed at the Faculty of Social Sciences, initially as a junior investigator and later on as a senior investigator at the Centre for Organization and Human Resource Research. She participated in several national and international projects in the area of social policy, employment policy and human resource management. 

She is a member of international research networks (COST A13, RECWOWE) and the national EU expert for the area of pensions. Within the framework of the European social policy, she carried out a number of evaluations of national social policies and employment policies, particularly in the area of employment of unemployed persons, reconciliation of work and family obligations and in lifelong learning.

She is also an assistant professor and lecturer in European social policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences, the author of several scientific works in the area of social policy and employment policy, among them the book “Aktivacija – obrat v socialni politiki” should be pointed in particular. 

She was appointed State Secretary to the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs on 27 November 2008.
